I always think that people should do as they like. I hope your paid subscribers increase and wish you the best with that endeavor. I didn't plan on writing a substack but do so occasionally. I don't want paid subscribers because I would feel that I must write as opposed to writing when a topic moves me. If a thought strikes someone, I'm happy. Of course, I'm much older, and after a lifetime of working many jobs and many of them unpleasant, I'm happy not to feel the pressure to work.

Fasting is a great practice. It teaches discipline over the mind & body & a new appreciation for food. Some people dry fast, or go with just water for days.

The most I could tolerate was 36 hrs 🤣

it was rough at times. the hunger comes and goes. you think you're over it and then it strikes again.

How is limiting comments to those with paid subscriptions "providing maximum access to ideas that matter?" If you aren't doing it, Substack is misbehaving by doing it.

I've always set all free articles to allow comments from everyone. This article included. I don't know what to tell you.
