Fascinating post, while I can't tell if you are being sarcastic at some points I would like to add that there are many people who believe these people to be reptillians. I am not saying I endorse this idea, however there's plenty of video evidence one can find of people morphing or becoming distorted on camera live. You have to really dig deep to find some out-of-this-world phenomenon.

They may be aliens, inter-dimensional entities that latch onto people of power, or I sometimes wondered if it is a form of A.I. The possibilities are endless. Thanks for the links, I'll check them out. I don't know what I believe on this topic, and some of this article was more satirical than genuine speculation as you suggested, but the ruling class is certainly a peculiar abomination, regardless of whether the cause is supernatural or not.
I lean towards interdimensional demons that do have a historically serpent-like nature rather than the idea they are from outer space.
I think people do become possessed by them, going back to the belief the Egyptian pharoah's were possessed by Osiris, represented by the snake on the forehead, these can also be connected with the fallen angels (fallen seraphim, in the Hebrew, "fiery serpent").
Finally, we can connect all of these with meditative dissociation, and psychedelic use, especially with groups like the Aztecs who encountered them when they discovered DMT, and these beings started commanding them to do mass sacrifices of their own people in exchange for things, and we see visuals of Quetzalcoatl, the plumed serpent.
It's why after decades of psychedelic use, I now warn against it, the visuals were fun at first, then really bad things started messing with me, even microdosing opens that door, using drugs like that is like going in the middle of the ocean and hoping to not be eaten by a shark, there are dangerous things out there.
I have no other advice at this point in life but to run to Jesus Christ for salvation, what's in the Bible I find to actually be true and what all of this is about. There's some kind of block where it's extremely hard for anyone to ever sit down and read what's in there, they will immediately feel everything in them pulling away from it, boredom, irritation; it takes nearly an act of God to sit down and read just one of the Gospels even though it only takes 45 minutes. Audio Bible is how I was able to overcome this. Listen to Romans, and realize every word on that page is coming from God, giving the last warning before the judgment, explaining in Romans 1 why everything is going downhill, the world is being judged as it abandoned God, the only hope comes in Romans 5-8 in Christ, most are in serious danger.

And in the end, the psychdelic visions give the same delusion that the serpent in the garden gave, that YOU are god, "ye shall be as gods" (solipsism, pantheism), "all is one" vision, Hinduism, all from the fallen serpents.
