The above commentary neglects to mention the medical community's heinous cooperation in the promotion of formula over nursing following WWII. The only reason breastfeeding even needs to be "promoted" today is because of the unholy alliance of the medical field with formula companies back in the 50s to convince families across the USA that nursing is passe and that formula feeding is "more scientific" and healthier for babies. An entire generation and more of mothers lost the community wisdom regarding nursing, and we have not come close to recovering from this damage today. And formula companies like Nestle continue to forward this false marketing campaign in third world countries even today. This kind of behavior leads to a distrust of medical interventions and of science in general.
By contrast, vaccines have been strongly promoted by the same medical community that told us that nursing was not necessary, as well as many other errant campaigns, including that Benzedrine and Valium were not addictive, that regular mamograms were helpful, and that HRT was necessary for menopausal women. Much medical "science" today continues to be corrupted by financial interests, to the point that less than half of "positive" scientific studies are replicable. The use of ethyl mercury in vaccines also created concerns which were denied and minimized by the medical community instead of being honestly addressed.
All of these factors together have created a distrust in the medical community, and in some cases, in science altogether, since many of these promotion campaigns (including the suppression of nursing) were framed in terms of "science" offering "better solutions."
I am not opposed to vaccines. Definitely prefer them to polio, tetanus, and COVID. However, it is more accurate for the medical community to take responsibility for CAUSING the distrust in medicine by promoting dangerous solutions in the name of economic gain. I just want to say, that breastfeeding physiologically inhibits the woman to become pregnant again. In healthy women, after childbirth, the menstrual cycle only starts after terminating breastfeeding. Women who don't breastfeed can become pregnant earlier!

Re-reading, I misspoke: the "attack on breastfeeding" that has long been underway, would have better read: "the effort to control how a woman feeds her baby" has underway since the 80s... due to child spacing and population control. The real attack has been an "attack on baby formula" as witness last year, and referenced in linked report. However, there has been an attack on breastfeeding as well, mostly driven by corporate greed, Big Pharma, and militant feminists. The article does not cover the other physical benefits for the baby like their natural mouth structure when breast fed versus the plastic nipple instead. Who would prefer impersonal plastic loaded with chemicals? It boggles the mind that people are actually writing such crap! I ran a childcare center decades ago and breast fed babies were usually calmer than the bottle fed. It was a noticeable difference. Bottle fed babies also had more digestive problems like colic because of trapped gas in their gut which causes severe pain. That almost never happens with breast fed babies. There are many scientific articles proving the benefits of babies being breast fed. The other problem with many articles is the lack of actual and provable FACTS. Instead it seems that the puppet masters quote fallacy and lies as if it were gospel. Unfortunately, some fall for this type of bait...

One topic covered the benefits of breastfeeding for both the mother and the child, which go from immunity, to increased intelligence, to reduced allergies for the babies breastfeed long enough, 6 months to 1 year or more. We stayed together for some years until she decided to give me strong hints that I needed to propose to her. I refused. Why?! I learned that she had already made plans about how many pregnancies she would have, that one needed to be a girl and the other a boy and she didn't want to breastfeed for more than a few weeks. I won't lie, I was disgusted. (Anyone can go on and interpret this as "you wanted to control her body"... I dont f king care. She disgusted me.)

Many will recall that about 8 years ago 23andme had many discoveries simply based on surveying their customers and examining their genes. The FDA cracked down hard because they wanted to control who produced health insights. It's a shame. In any case I believe one of those discoveries was of a single nucleotide polymorphism that, if present, resulted in a loss of on average 6 IQ points if the child was formula fed.
I simply avoided having my dna added to any database. Just seemed risky for a fun reward that who knows if really accurate!

The above commentary neglects to mention the medical community's heinous cooperation in the promotion of formula over nursing following WWII. The only reason breastfeeding even needs to be "promoted" today is because of the unholy alliance of the medical field with formula companies back in the 50s to convince families across the USA that nursing is passe and that formula feeding is "more scientific" and healthier for babies. An entire generation and more of mothers lost the community wisdom regarding nursing, and we have not come close to recovering from this damage today. And formula companies like Nestle continue to forward this false marketing campaign in third world countries even today. This kind of behavior leads to a distrust of medical interventions and of science in general.
By contrast, vaccines have been strongly promoted by the same medical community that told us that nursing was not necessary, as well as many other errant campaigns, including that Benzedrine and Valium were not addictive, that regular mamograms were helpful, and that HRT was necessary for menopausal women. Much medical "science" today continues to be corrupted by financial interests, to the point that less than half of "positive" scientific studies are replicable. The use of ethyl mercury in vaccines also created concerns which were denied and minimized by the medical community instead of being honestly addressed.
All of these factors together have created a distrust in the medical community, and in some cases, in science altogether, since many of these promotion campaigns (including the suppression of nursing) were framed in terms of "science" offering "better solutions."
I am not opposed to vaccines. Definitely prefer them to polio, tetanus, and COVID. However, it is more accurate for the medical community to take responsibility for CAUSING the distrust in medicine by promoting dangerous solutions in the name of economic gain. When people have been lied to and "science" has been used to promote those lies, belief in actual science naturally declines, leading to an over-commitment to "natural" solutions. Blaming the promotion of nursing for resistance to vaccines is an absurd misassignment of responsibility. People have less trust in the medical community than they used to because the medical community has engaged in less trustworthy behavior, starting with the intentional suppression of the very human, very "natural" process of feeding our babies through nursing. The medical community should admit these errors and start trying to earn back the trust they've lost, starting by disconnecting medical research from profit-driven enterprises that lead to perverse incentives and conflicts of interest.

I just want to say, that breastfeeding physiologically inhibits the woman to become pregnant again. In healthy women, after childbirth, the menstrual cycle only starts after terminating breastfeeding. Women who don't breastfeed can become pregnant earlier!

Re-reading, I misspoke: the "attack on breastfeeding" that has long been underway, would have better read: "the effort to control how a woman feeds her baby" has underway since the 80s... due to child spacing and population control. The real attack has been an "attack on baby formula" as witness last year, and referenced in linked report. However, there has been an attack on breastfeeding as well, mostly driven by corporate greed, Big Pharma, and militant feminists. Ironically, thinking it through, both sides advance the overarching agenda of reducing the herd and cultivating a dumbed down population.

The article does not cover the other physical benefits for the baby like their natural mouth structure when breast fed versus the plastic nipple instead. Who would prefer impersonal plastic loaded with chemicals? It boggles the mind that people are actually writing such crap! I ran a childcare center decades ago and breast fed babies were usually calmer than the bottle fed. It was a noticeable difference. Bottle fed babies also had more digestive problems like colic because of trapped gas in their gut which causes severe pain. That almost never happens with breast fed babies. There are many scientific articles proving the benefits of babies being breast fed. The other problem with many articles is the lack of actual and provable FACTS. Instead it seems that the puppet masters quote fallacy and lies as if it were gospel. Unfortunately, some fall for this type of bait...
55 yrs ago, doctors told my mother that breastmilk was bad for babies because studies had proven that it contained - gasp! - bacteria!! Well It had better contain probiotics or it would be almost as crappy as formula! She ignored the white robed idiots and gave her babies the breast.

I had a gf few years ago, who was finishing med school, and we often discussed what she learned together. One topic covered the benefits of breastfeeding for both the mother and the child, which go from immunity, to increased intelligence, to reduced allergies for the babies breastfeed long enough, 6 months to 1 year or more. We stayed together for some years until she decided to give me strong hints that I needed to propose to her. I refused. Why?! I learned that she had already made plans about how many pregnancies she would have, that one needed to be a girl and the other a boy and she didn't want to breastfeed for more than a few weeks. I won't lie, I was disgusted. (Anyone can go on and interpret this as "you wanted to control her body"... I dont f king care. She disgusted me.)
One lesson I have learned these last 5 years is that: propaganda and brainwashing are real, and they work. I don't know the solution... Maybe thats the answer. No solution. Humanity will be drastically reduced in numbers. Oils reserves are becoming scarcer, humans are sick, like those rats of the "Rat utopia experiment".
