Not to mention the horrific side effect profile of statins… also duly suppressed. I’d rather pay for gelatin pills, pay off pharma, and get them out of our lives.

I've been through it: statins, proton pump inhibitors, and antidepressants. GPs were prescribing healthcare regimens that weren't appropriate in the 1980s and 1990s. I understand what you're saying. These medications left me crippled with osteoporosis, headaches, constant fatigue, and other painful side effects. And, of course, there's nothing I can legally do about it. I suppose that sooner or later, the label of 'useless eater' that Mr. Schwab refers to will apply to me, and I'll be offered MAiD.

Statins are on my allergy list because around age 40 I realized I couldn't play pickup basketball with my 2 sons because they were making me clumsy almost to the point of falling.

It's good to see someone who understands more about the details highlighting this.

Thank you for this timely article. A few years ago my previous doctor put me on rosuvastatin, but I dumped it half-way through the bottle when I realized that, whatever the actual, medical cause of my discomfort, it made me feel as though my blood pressure was going UP. I will see my new doctor in a few days and fear the prospect of another statin prescription, but your article has given me ammunition.

I have read numerous books and articles about heart disease and statins. So many drugs follow these patterns...create a faked or altered or manipulated study and then push the drug into patients. This is why I avoid the medical system as much as possible. I do have some heart problems but have been successful treating them with herbs and a few supplements.

Crixcyon...

Back in the early seventies I was a staff member of the American Heart Association. A Gentleman by the name of Linus Pauling, famous as a man with a Nobel Prize in Cellular Metabolism, made a public remark that "Heart Disease" was not a "disease", at all, but a minor medical condition. He said that so-called heart disease could not only be prevented....but reversed, for ten dollars a month. Back then, this "disease" was worth about three-hundred billion dollars a year to the medical industry....today it is now worth over a trillion. If someone made that statement today, they would be dead within a month. Pauling fled to Germany and continued his research there. I have since visited the Pauling Institute in Oregon several times and they know nothing about what he reported back then. A good reference to this issue is a book entitled The Healing Factor by Irwin Stone and L. Pauling.

Good luck,

Nancy Flumn
