This week in “government by special interest,” flyover country is awash in agricultural chemicals — and it’s only going to get flooded harder in the near future if a raft of proposed legislation is any indication.
Good article. I'm not a lawyer, but when I'm all coked up I like to pretend to understand those fancy lawyering bills. Seems like Keith, in the Comments section is right? Glyphosate is a herbicide, not a pesticide, fungicide nor insecticide. So does this Iowa piece of legislation apply? Probably doesn't matter as it's all on the label 'use as directed, don't snort'. Let's hope MAGA gets rid of this too? Lots of studies available on glyphosate and reduction in gut bacteria. Thanks for the article!
Glyphosate is a herbicide, not a pesticide. Just a clarification. Most of our food is home or farmer grown where we know if any chemicals, antibiotics, etc are used
They come across like they are protecting family farms and keeping the price of food down for the consumer.
Oh and by the way the alliance is primarily chemical manufacturers, not farmers, with Bayer being the primary one . Oh, they just happen to produce glyphosate ( ROUNDUP® )
Ben, the agri-industry in the USA uses Glysophate to “dessicate” crops like oats. This means they spray your healthy-living oats with glysophate to speed up the harvest time, so the oats can be delivered to the food corporations so your “healthy” breakfast or energy bars can give you cancer and make you more valuable to the insurance and medical industries. Never buy USA sourced cereal products.
Ben, here in Florida I have watched hazmat covered people spraying the parks with pesticides which include parks where children play. Unfortunately, little people are small, therefore they are closer physically to the myriad of toxins sprayed on the grass. The biological accumulation of toxins we are physically exposed to on a daily basis is incalculable. Yep, this is a provable scientific truth. Nuclear power is the dirtiest of them all! Because we cannot see or sense that we are being secretly poisoned by the 1435 radioactive particles that are released into the air 24 hours a day. The continuance of these deadly power sources is being promoted and spread despite their deadly effluence...
