When I first read the headline, it was like a body blow.

I don't know what Orwell was really like - no one does - but he demonstrated a principled public life and was admirably brave plus he gave us fair warning of the dark side of human nature. We are indebted to him.

What the headline and article also showed us was the depths to which certain journalists and their controllers would go. That is depressing. They are not only shallow but without honour. They evidence our decline.

Great article. I recently bought a cool T-shirt that says “Orwell 84” in the tradition of a sports jersey. Bought one for a bday present for my dad too. Let’s think up a stronger word than “irony” - this is 🤯 mind blowing, yet fully unsurprising.

She is just another programmed product of today’s journalism departments, trying ever so hard to be the relevant activist , virtue signaling meat puppet her parents paid big bucks to have her be. Of course Orwell would be a target for the left. The left is blind their hypocrisy they don’t get irony and they don’t do facts. Thank you for calling this insipid dunderhead out.

The irony is delicious (and also heartbreaking), given that Orwell had to flee Spain because Stalinist agents were trying to kill him for ideological wrongthink. It's taken them 80 years, but they'll unperson him yet!

Like another English female academic trying to take the shine off of Henry Cort, a English inventor and businessman in metal processing...talked about in the Substack Age of Invention Juiy 07..said cort stole his ideas from Jamaican slaves ..article totally debunks this idea along with another reviewer article unraveling the slave issue. this is the trend now, the subject matter scholar expert jumping onto the deconstruction decolonization band wagon..without active peer reviews these people will change history for the worse.
