Your points about the insurance industry are valid, but was this the true reason this person was killled?
One must also realize that there maybe more to this story as well. Some suspect, that the murder was a warning to the health care industry about revealing the true scope of deaths from Covid vaccines and medical treatment for Covid which the major insurance companies would know about.
Was this guy, Luigi Mangione, a plant, or a patsy, or a cover-up. Was he really that upset over his back surgery as the MSM suggests. Was he denied in his claim for the surgery.
The shooter came from a wealthy family who has made money off of and continues to own assisted living homes, which is basically another form of health rip-off to get someone's last dollar when their children can no longer take care of them. This guy seemed to have a privileged life and lived in Hawaii spending time surfing, which supposedly aggravated his back condition.
Also, one must wonder why he would still be carrying a ghost gun and fake id around several days after a shooting. A lot of things don't add up in this story.
The doctors, physician practices, hospitals, medical centers, surgery centers, medical schools, regulatory agencies, and pharmaceutical companies bear responsibility for the problems in addition to the insurance companies.
I feel like there's been some major change in corporate culture over the decades. Businessmen used to be focused on making a quality product and pleasing customers, knowing that would lead to profits. Now it seems to be all about maximizing profit by whatever means necessary, and to Hell with the customers if they don't like it. It's long-term versus short-term thinking.
Maybe because people rarely work at the same company for decades anymore? Maybe everyone's looking to make their mark quickly so they can move on to the next big thing? Whatever the reason, it's bad for us.
Aside from the moral implications and consequences of shooting another person to death, it's indisputable that the case has brought much needed attention to the abhorrent US system of health insurance. As someone who has had the misfortune of depending on these entities for my income, and often being cheated out of it, I have no words for the contempt and anger I feel for them. Whether one man is sufficient to symbolize this diabolical system can be discussed, whether he was an innocent participant of it cannot.
Excellent article, Ben. You absolutely NAILED IT with this:
"Put simply, health insurance companies are economic leeches that contribute nothing of value to anyone except their shareholders and the executives like Brian Thompson, who was raking in tens of millions of dollars annually before his killing. They provide no service. They treat no patients. They improve no lives — quite the contrary, in fact."
All is FAIR in the Capitalist sub-system of the MONETARY SYSTEM...
With more brave fellow MMS like that one this could CHANGE! But he's a drop of Water in a cesspool of degenerate modern moron slaves all very OBEDIENT!

“He could leave his house whenever he wanted without security guards always trailing behind."
He wasn't a psychopath!
Sometimes, it's a fine line.

STOP FEEDING THE BEAST!!!
Cancel coverage, if enough people did it the whole rotten system would crumble!
