I wish media classes were part of the standard curricula. If people understood the hypnotic power of the technology, it might change things. As Marshall McLuhan famously said, "The medium is the message." The flickering refresh rate puts your brain into an alpha wave state, similar to sleep or hypnotism. Then, whatever they say/show becomes post-hypnotic suggestions. By constantly repeating the same message whenever you are in front of the babble box, the message gets buried deeper and deeper until you start to think it's your own mind telling you things. If you want out of the trap, the only thing to do is turn off the TeeVee and toss it out the door.

Often wonder if the plans have been in place for centuries if not longer, prophets & future fiction writers could be whistleblowers or simply publishing leaks.
